Google Merchant Center Suspension Checklist

Google Merchant Center suspension checklist — guide illustration

Written by

Use this checklist before you appeal a Google Merchant Center suspension. It covers the checks that resolve most suspensions — business identity, website policies, product data, and appeal readiness — so you can confirm the real cause instead of guessing at one.

Business identity

  • Business name matches exactly across your website, checkout, and Merchant Center.
  • A real, monitored contact method (email or phone) is visible on the site — not just a contact form.
  • Physical address, if shown, matches what’s registered with Merchant Center.

Website policies

  • Return, refund, and shipping policies are published and easy to find.
  • Policy pages match what’s actually offered at checkout — no contradictions.
  • No placeholder, “coming soon,” or broken pages live anywhere on the site.

Product data

  • Prices in your feed match the live price on each product page.
  • Availability (in stock / out of stock) in the feed matches the website in real time.
  • Every product has a valid GTIN/identifier where Google requires one.
  • Product images have no watermarks, placeholder graphics, or promotional overlay text.
  • Every feed link leads to a working, matching product page — no redirects or 404s.

Before you appeal

  • You’ve identified the specific policy Google cited — not just the general category.
  • The fix directly addresses that specific policy, not just a related symptom.
  • You haven’t resubmitted the same appeal unchanged after a rejection.
  • You can clearly explain what changed and why it resolves Google’s concern.

If several boxes are unchecked, it’s worth fixing them all before appealing rather than one at a time — see our guides on why accounts get suspended, misrepresentation violations, product feed errors, and what to expect during reinstatement for the detail behind each item.
